Part-Time Massage Therapy Educator
The Salon Professional Academy (TSPA) Maplewood is Hiring!
Are you a Massage Therapist who loves your profession and would enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with the next generation of massage professionals?
We are looking for a Part-Time Massage Therapy Educator to join our education team. This role combines classroom curriculum instruction, theory, hands-on demonstrations, practical education, coaching, and mentorship throughout our Massage Therapy program.
About the Position
As a Massage Therapy Educator, you will guide students through both the academic and practical portions of their education. You’ll be responsible for teaching assigned curriculum, presenting classroom lessons, demonstrating massage techniques, overseeing hands-on practice, and helping students develop the knowledge, professionalism, and confidence needed for a successful career.
A passion for educating and mentoring future professionals is just as important.
Part-Time Teaching Schedule
The schedule changes as each class progresses through the program:
Foundations – First 5 Weeks
- Mondays: 8:40 AM – 4:30 PM
- Fridays: 8:40 AM – 4:30 PM
Advanced Training
- Mondays: 1:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Alternating Fridays: 8:40 AM – 4:30 PM
- Alternating Saturdays: 8:40 AM – 4:30 PM
Applicants should be available to work the schedule above throughout both the Foundations and Advanced portions of the program.
What You’ll Do
- Teach assigned Massage Therapy curriculum, including classroom theory and practical education
- Prepare for and deliver engaging lessons based on established curriculum
- Demonstrate massage techniques and guide students through hands-on practice
- Connect classroom concepts to real-world massage therapy experiences
- Evaluate student understanding, skills, and progress
- Provide constructive coaching, feedback, and mentorship
- Maintain accurate educational and student documentation as required
- Reinforce sanitation, safety, professional boundaries, ethics, and industry standards
- Help students develop strong communication and client-care skills
- Work collaboratively with fellow educators and school leadership
- Create a positive, professional, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Help prepare students for graduation and successful careers in massage therapy
What We’re Looking For
Our ideal candidate:
- Has professional experience as a Massage Therapist
- Pass a background check
- Is comfortable teaching both curriculum/theory and hands-on techniques
- Enjoys coaching, mentoring, and developing others
- Is confident speaking and teaching in front of a classroom
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is dependable, organized, and able to follow an established curriculum
- Brings positive energy and a team-oriented mindset
- Is passionate about the massage therapy profession and helping future professionals succeed
Previous teaching experience is a plus, but not required. We are looking for someone with strong industry knowledge who is excited about developing their skills as an educator.
