5 Tips for Beating the Morning Struggle

Mornings can be difficult for some people. Getting up early for school and rushing to get ready can be stressful. We’ve created a list of simple tips you can follow to streamline your morning routine. It’s a good way to be prepared and start the day off in a positive, productive way. Here are our tips!

1. Prepare the Night Before

When you have to wake up early to get to school on time, there’s nothing worse than scrambling to get things done. Do yourself a favor and prepare the night before. Choose what you want to wear and lay it out. Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks so you’ll have something ready to eat in the morning and food to take to school. To avoid forgetting any homework or books, make sure your backpack is packed before you go to bed. These simple steps can make the morning less stressful!

2. Give Yourself a Full Hour

Even if you don’t need a whole hour, it’s a good idea to give yourself a buffer. Setting one an hour ahead of when you need to leave for school is a good way to make sure you’re not late. Sometimes it’s hard to wake up and start getting ready. With a full hour of time, you can spare five minutes hitting the snooze button. Sometimes last minute homework or chores need to be done in the morning. Having more time before leaving is a good way to make sure those tasks get done and you get to school on time.

3. Establish a Hygiene and Skin Care Routine

If you want to start the morning off right, you need to be fresh and clean. Brush your teeth, take a shower, and wash your face. This is a great way to feel refreshed, awake, and ready to start the day. After that, it’s up to you. Maybe you just want to brush your hair, put on lip balm, and call it good. Maybe you’re someone who likes to style your hair and wear makeup every day. Do whatever makes you feel great and ready for the day.

4. Eat a Healthy Breakfast

When you’re busy or in a rush, it’s easy to skip breakfast, but if you want to fuel yourself for the day, breakfast is necessary. No one wants to be starving at 9 a.m. with three hours left until lunchtime. It’s also difficult to focus on school work, lectures, and tests when you’re hungry. You can make your breakfast the night before, or quickly make something healthy and simple in the morning like oatmeal, eggs, or toast. It doesn’t need to be elaborate, but it needs to fuel your body and your brain!

5. Make Your Bed

When you make your bed first thing in the morning, you’re starting the day with productivity. After accomplishing the first task of your day, you can move ahead and get everything else done. Making your bed can also motivate you to keep the rest of your bedroom tidy and clean. A made bed looks crisp and clean, why not make the rest of your space match it? Another good reason to make your bed is that it will prevent you from wanting to dive back into it and waste time. Once the sheets are smoothed and the pillows are plumped, you’ll be less tempted to climb back in and hit snooze a few more times.

But a big difference between cosmetology school and other educational programs is the time it takes to complete.
